Occasionally, when I am coming out of a meditation, words mysteriously come to me. They are not from somewhere and don't relate to anything. Or so they seem.
That happened the other morning: "There is no tomorrow".
Cherry thought. Pretty nihilistic, if you ask me....
But as I pondered these words, their meaning slowly began to unfold.
Because, in truth, there is no tomorrow.
Tomorrow is simply our projection of what might or might not happen. We never live in tomorrow. It is only an illusion shaped by our today.
As I walked around, I began to repeat these words to myself to remind me that all that I had was today. As I did so, I began to become more aware of what today was. The light falling on the leaves. The smells, the feelings.
