Agile Partnership Program

We are learning how to develop a new kind of partnership between educators and industry professionals.

It started with a simple question, what might happen if we matched industry professionals that are managing agile teams in their companies with innovative teachers who are exploring how to introduce new practices into their classroom.

And asked to do nothing more than what Jami and I have been doing for the last three years. Make a commitment to, each week, simply talk. To listen. To share. To learn together.

Often we feel that those from industry live in such different worlds than educators. This distinction leads us to think that we can't understand each other and it creates seemingly unpenetratable walls.

But once one appreciates that, in this new economy, we are are both trying to create new dynamic learning environments, we quickly can see that we actually have far more in common.

Last spring we complete our six-week pilot which combined Innovators from Dayton High School with agilists from New Relic . It was an amazing experience. We did another, slightly longer, sprint this fall with the same partners.
